Date: 2011-12-26 - 2011-12-30

With few exceptions, enterprises today rely on IT for the delivery of business-critical services - often directly to the end consumer. It is therefore vital that the mission critical data centre is designed, maintained and operated with hi-availability and e ciency in mind. Fact is, however, that most Data Centre's do not meet the full availability, capacity, safety or e ciency requirements often demanded. The ever changing technolo-gies put even more pressure on data centre managers along with the faster pace at which these changes are required. The Certi ed Data Centre Expert course is a ve-day course designed to prepare participants to analyze a given busi-ness case and perform technical evaluation for a project plan and a set of designs for implementation of a mission critical Data Centre. The course also engages partici-pants in product evaluations and demonstrates how to select equipment and develop equipment test scripts (IET) and integrated performance and validation testing (IPVT). CDCE® builds upon knowledge gained in CDCP® and CDCS® courses. Participants who pass the exam will join the industry’s elite Data Centre project design experts.

Managing the facilities of today’s hi-end and hi-availability data centres is an extremely demanding and complex task which is often under estimated. There is often very little appreciation and understanding of the complexities of managing today's mission critical data centres, especially since many of the data centres are operating at, or near, their design limits and downtime is never an option. The way a data centre is managed at the facilities layer makes all the dierence. Even a data centre designed to Tier-4 as per the ANSI/TIA-942 standard could still experience many unscheduled down time events due to poor planning, operations, maintenance and management processes.

The CDFOM® course is a 3 day course which will enable participants to gain in-depth knowledge in managing data centre operations which include the following key subject matters; capacity planning, latest green initiatives, how to properly commission and de-commission equipment, compliance to safety standards, statutory compliance and international standards, managing people, vendor management, handling incident/crisis management as well how to keep operations really simple, manageable, effective and efficient and much more.
